What engineering inputs are needed before structural pipe supplier matching?
Provide drawings or a bill of quantities, outside dimensions, wall thickness, grade, design and product standards, production-route restrictions, tolerances, weld requirements, coating system, inspection points, project marking, quantity, delivery sequence and destination. Load data may also be needed, but supplier review does not replace the project engineer's design approval.
How should ERW, LSAW and SSAW structural pipe routes be compared?
Compare only routes permitted by the project specification. Diameter, wall thickness, seam configuration, dimensional tolerance, mechanical requirements, inspection, availability, minimum order and delivery time can all affect suitability. The quotation should name the route and mill rather than presenting different routes under one generic pipe description.
Can project marking and staged delivery be included in the RFQ?
Yes. Provide the required mark format, drawing or zone reference, bundle sequence, packing list structure, delivery batches, lifting restrictions and site priority. These requirements should be reviewed before production because they affect marking control, bundle composition, storage, container planning and documentation cost.
Standards, listings, MTCs, coating records, inspection reports, and project references must belong to the applicable selected supplier and product scope.
